Why Make The Switch To Conditioner Bars
What is a Conditioner Bar?
A conditioner bar is a solid version of your usual liquid conditioner. A conditioner bar is a great way to look after your hair without needing to buy those plastic bottles. They contain a range of conditioning ingredients such as oils and butters, that are solid at room temperature. They are a lightweight, concentrated form of conditioner, which results in a long-lasting bar.
How do you use a Conditioner Bar?
They work in a similar way to shampoo bars. Once you have wet your hair and wet the bar, comb it along the hair to create a glide. Then use your fingers to comb the conditioner through your hair. Focus on the ends and any dryer areas.
Why should we consider using a Conditioner Bar?
There are many benefits to choosing a bar for your conditioner. They are a concentrated version of ingredients (due to the very low water %) so can last a lot longer. A little goes a long way, so these concentrated pucks of moisture will last a long time. Simply allow them to dry between uses and try to keep them away from running water when not in use.
Is a Conditioner Bar good for my hair?
Enriching, nourishing and moisturising oils are used in conditioner bars, to promote healthy, shiny hair and to promote growth. We’d Rather Lather used Jojoba, Coconut, Broccoli Seed oils as well as Cocoa Butter and Shea Butter. Other ingredients are chosen for this reason too (that you would also find in liquid versions) such as Panthenol and Soy and Wheat Proteins
Which Conditioner Bar should I choose?
We’d Rather Lather have a range of 4 conditioner bars to choose from.
Light: This uses lighter oils such as Broccoli Seed Oil and a Fractionated Coconut Oil, which will moisturise without weighing down your hair. (Link)
Conditioner Bar: A great mid-range conditioner enhanced with Coconut Oil and Jojoba Oil – both are easily absorbed and protect against dryness. (Link)
Extra Conditioning Bar: Similar to the conditioner bar, with the addition of Shea Butter, which is a great hydrator. It moistens, softens and protect the hair from moisture loss. (Link)
Curly Conditioner: This bar has a higher concentration of oils that the other conditioner bars. All of our favourite oils (Cocoa Butter, Shea Butter, Fractionated Coconut Oil and Jojoba Oil) are chosen to add moisture, nourish and create a protective barrier around the hair when conditioning.
